Reinforcing and industrial mesh

Rebar Mesh Panels / Reinforcing Mesh Panels

Factory-welded sheets of steel wire on a regular grid, supplied flat and square for reinforcing concrete or for use as cages, partitions and fabricated components. Because the grid is machine welded, spacing is uniform across the whole sheet.

›Opening: 25–200 mm
›Wire diameter: 2.0–12.0 mm, plain or ribbed
›Steel grade: HRB400 / CRB550
›Standards referenced: BS 4483, AS/NZS 4671, ASTM A1064
›Sheet size: 1,000×2,000 mm up to 2,500×6,000 mm
›Finish: black, galvanized or PVC coated

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between this and welded wire mesh rolls?

Roll mesh is made from thinner wire, typically up to about 2 mm, and is used for light containment and plaster work. Rebar mesh panels use heavier wire, from about 4 mm upwards, and are designed to carry structural load in concrete.

Which standard applies to my project?

It depends on the market and the engineer. BS 4483 is common in the UK and parts of the Middle East, AS/NZS 4671 in Australia and New Zealand, and ASTM A1064 in North America. The requirement should be stated on the order so the wire grade and tolerances can be matched.

Can the sheets be supplied galvanized?

Yes. Galvanizing is specified where the mesh will be exposed, such as in cages, guards and marine or wet environments. For mesh fully embedded in concrete, black wire is normal.
